Scholars' Commons - Room 245 (Rooms Reservations) Capacity: 25

Description

Faculty looking for a place away from their offices for private reading and writing, collaboration and professional development can visit the Scholars’ Commons — a spacious room on the second floor of Roesch Library.

Availability

• Location: Room 245, Roesch Library 2nd floor
• Access: Faculty and doctoral students only; UD ID required to enter. Open during regular library hours

Noise Level

Outside of scheduled events, the noise level in the Scholars' Commons should remain considerate to others who may be writing or reading. Groups may reserve team rooms for more active and vocal studying and collaboration.

Events

Although the room is designed for informal and impromptu use, it can be reserved upon request for small events or workshops that foster scholarly or professional engagement. 

It cannot be reserved for standing meetings or events, or events that take place over several consecutive days.

Reservation requests must be made at least one week prior to your event or program.

• Six to seven lounge-type seating clusters (maximum capacity of 25)
• Adjustable lighting
• Partitions
• Movable large monitors with laptop connections
• Movable whiteboards
• Floor-to-ceiling bulletin boards

General Guidelines:

• You may reconfigure the furniture to suit your event; however, please return the furniture to its original layout after your event has concluded.
• Place all trash in designated trash receptacles
• Users are responsible for their personal property. Do not leave items unattended. University Libraries is not liable for loss/damage to personal property.
• Report any damage or equipment failures to one of the services desks (Hello Desks or Information Point on the first floor).  If damage is discovered after your use, you may be held responsible for the cost of repairs/replacements.
