Workshop: Digital Humanities Project Planning
Do you have an idea for a digital humanities project, either scholarly or pedagogical, but not sure where to start? Or maybe your project has stalled and needs a reboot? The University Libraries offers consultations, resources, and support for those interested in developing scholarly or pedagogical digital projects through a new Digital Projects Toolkit.
This workshop will engage participants in the process of creating a digital project charter. The project charter is a simple document prompting participants to consider a set of key questions when conceptualizing and planning a digital humanities project. These include prompts about:
- Formulating goals and objectives
- Identifying potential partners and their roles
- Establishing realistic timelines
- Understanding costs (direct and indirect)
- Exploring digital tools and platforms
- Planning for sustainability
Participants will have an opportunity to connect with other colleagues interested in developing digital humanities projects and will leave prepared to create a draft project charter for their own projects.
